The nose elicits scents of vanilla, pears, pineapple, and apricot. Flavors of tropical fruit, peaches, crème brûlée and fresh apple pie are carried by bright acidity ending in a long finish and creamy mouthfeel.
Ceja Vineyards Chardonnay comes from our gorgeous Viña del Sol Ranch located in the Carneros region of Napa Valley. The Carneros American Viticultural Area (AVA) is the only appellation located at the crossroads of two major wine regions, the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Influenced by the maritime breezes and fog from its southern border with the San Pablo Bay, Carneros produces the region’s finest Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and sparkling wines.
Each Chardonnay lot was kept separate throughout the aging process. The grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed while the fruit was still cool. The juice was pumped to tank to cold-settle overnight before it was racked to barrel for primary fermentation. Weekly lees stirring enhanced the toasty notes and integrated the oak flavors for an overall balance. After 14 months of aging, the most expressive lots are chosen and blended to create a richly layered wine.
